My original design was motivated to stop my legs from " dropping off " when I'd been kneeling on the
floor ! It was then pointed out by friends that it could be used whilst meditating . Having supplied
a number to a local group and altering my design slightly from some very useful feedback , I now make
and supply the designs illustrated here .

I've kept the basic stool simple but flexible . There is the seat supported by a single leg . It has
a slightly convex curve running across the length of the seat . This curve sits nicely behind the legs
thus reducing any harsh edges . The support leg is raked forward and has a curved base . This means the
seat can be tilted back and forth to suit the user , there is no fixed angle to the seat .

When using the Basic style , a need to maintain a triangular "foot print" is desirable . That is ,
your knees should be apart , thus making a triangle with your knees and support leg . I also suggest
that shoes should not be worn , that feet should be pointed , with your " big " toes touching behind
the support leg .

The other style I now make ( Deluxe & Deluxe Plus ) , have two support legs , the Deluxe Plus ( illus.)
has the option of just using one of those legs to form a Basic stool . The twin support legs mean the
knees can be closer and the need for the triangular " foot print " is less important .

I had to twist the arm of a District Nurse to try one out ,she was convinced that her next stop would
be a Casualty department . It was most amusing to watch her apprehensive look slowly change to one of
relief and then to pleasure as she realised it was actually comfortable and apparently safe ! The same
thing happens at shows , plus no one will try it until I'm sitting on the floor safe and well with on
obvious damage to myself or my stool ! I tried to calculate the weight reduction on the knees when using
a stool , but found this varied depending how you positioned yourself . Enough to say that pressure on
your legs and weight on your knees can be greatly reduced when using the stool .
